Power-Up Youth Workers

A project implemented in the Netherlands, Romania and Lithuania that strengthens youth participation in local decision-making by empowering youth workers to apply innovative methodologies.

Power-Up Youth Workers aims to develop tools and platforms that help young people – especially those experiencing social exclusion – have their voices heard by decision-makers.

Speaking Minds Methodology

The project is based on Save the Children’s practical Speaking Minds methodology, designed to help young people engage directly with policymakers.

Training and Activities

The project develops a train-the-trainer programme for youth workers and delivers international learning and collaboration activities.

Impact and Sustainability

We will strengthen the role of youth workers in connecting young people with municipalities, contributing to more sustainable and inclusive youth participation across Europe.

The Speaking Minds methodology and existing materials were reviewed, and lessons learned were assessed.

Information Gathering

National consultations were conducted with youth workers to identify the current situation and their needs.

Working Group in Romania

Partners met in person to review research findings and jointly plan the structure of the training programme.

Training Programme

Development of training materials, pilot implementation and translation into national languages.

International peer-to-peer programme and national learning events for youth workers.
